positive discipline + gentle parenting

Children are EGOCENTRIC THINKERS,

which means they BELIEVE EVERYTHING IS ABOUT THEM. SO...

If you're upset, they think they caused it.

If you're distracted, they think they're not important.

If you're yelling, they don't think "Mum's having a hard day", they think "I'm bad."

If you don't apologise after losing your temper, they assume it was their fault.

If they experience inconsistency, they blame themselves, not the situation.

This is why our reactions matter.

Not because we have to be perfect, but because how we respond teaches them how to see themselves.

Your child sees the world through their own eyes, and it's natural for them to believe that everything revolves around them. When you're upset, they might think it's their fault.

When plans change, they may feel personally impacted.

This isn't selfishness-it's part of their developmental stage. Understanding this can help you respond with more patience and compassion when they react in ways that seem confusing or frustrating.
