WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR BRAIN WHEN YOU VISUALIZE?
When you visualize doing something, your brain responds
as if you are really doing it.
For example, if you imagine throwing a free throw, the chemicals
produced in your brain, and the electrical impulses sent to the
muscles, are identical to those that would be sent if you were actually
throwing it.
Your brain doesn't know the difference between what's real
and what's imagined.
This is why visualization is a useful tool for achieving a goal.
By seeing yourself accomplishing it, you're training
your mind and body for the real thing.
The more vividly and frequently you visualize your goal
activating your senses like sight sound, smell, and
with all the detail and emotion you can imagine
the more likely you are to achieve it.
