Whats that one thing you think is keeping you stuck
Have you seen someone who's less prepared, less qualified than you, and still winning?
You know, they aren't that talented, but still they're achieving bigger things than you. That's law in action. It's when everything that should go wrong somehow works out, just because they dare to keep going.
You're sitting there, overthinking, planning, doubting yourself, while they're out there doing things relentlessly, imperfectly, shamelessly. You know, we think that success follows logic, good school, smart ideas, right timing.
But most of the people who win didn't follow a map. They just didn't stop. They're not better than you. They just didn't care if they looked stupid. They failed fast. They spoke up. They made mistakes in public.
And while you waited to feel ready, they already built something. The reason people win isn't because it makes sense. It's because they move fast, while you were still trying to find logic in everything.
The only true test of intelligence
The only true test of intelligence is if you get what you want out of life, and there are two parts to that.
Getting what you want, so you know how to get it, and the second is wanting the right things. Knowing what to want in the first place.
I could want to be a six-foot-eight basketball player, and I'm not going to get that, so it's wanting the wrong thing. If you're not careful, you can end up in a worst place in life, not only that you don't want to be, but one that you didn't even mean to get to.
Cope Mechanism
How did you cope through the pain when life knocked you down every time?
When we go through hard things, we have to remember that the hard times we go through, that is the training that makes great people.
I look at my mum and dad, they escaped the Vietnam War, they escaped the war, okay? It was crazy. And my mum and dad are still some of the kindest, most successful, most amazing people I know in my life.
And I found in this life, all the successful people I've met, all of them have not been able to avoid hard times. And I fully understood now and cemented in my mind that when you go through hard times, just keep remembering in your mind, this is the training required to become great.
Don't sit and dwell in it, but rather remember in your mind, this is the training that's going to make me great one day. And that's what keeps me going, right? Because I'm like, no, no, this is training. And I hate training at the gym because I love eating pizza. So I have to keep training, but I hate it.
So I know hard times will be hard, but just remember that's what's going to help you become successful and great one day. So seek difficulty, don't seek easy
Read People
The fastest way to read a human being, number one way, is to keep one question in your head.
It is, what does this person want me to feel about them and what do they want me to notice?
So what do they want me to notice about them?
And that's going to show you the beginnings of understanding the mask that people wear. Because everyone wears some kind of a mask. That's the fastest way.
Enemy
Its a mistake to assume just because people are privileged, they lack grit. And a dangerous game to make enemies left, right, and center.
Not if one is comfortable with having enemies
You have no enemies, the boast is poor.
He who is mingled in the fray of duty that the brave endure must have made foes. If you have none, small is the work that you have done. You've hit no traitor on the hip. You've dashed no cup from perjured lip. You've never turned the wrong to right. You've been a coward in the fight.
